Chef Xavier Bonnafous grew up in Mazamet, France and lived there until he came to America in the early 1990’s. He attended college in France and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, but after graduating, he realized his true passion was in the culinary industry, so he went back to school in France and earned a culinary degree.
His first experience working stateside was in at the French restaurant in Walt Disney World’s Epcot, which is now known as Les Chefs de France. After working in Orlando, he moved across the world to London, where he worked as the Maitre d’ hotel at Stephen BULL Restaurant. He moved back to the states in 1999 and settled down in Miami, where he stayed until 2012.
During his time in Miami, Chef Xavier held various jobs in the hospitality industry and has managed several restaurants in addition to working as a chef. He also started his own catering business in 1995, To-Go Chef Catering, that he ran on the side.
In 2012, he was offered a job at Whole Foods on Woodruff Road and moved to Greenville, SC. In 2013, Whole Foods relocated him back to Florida to work at one of their stores in Miami.
Chef Xavier is thrilled to be back to Greenville, SC to work as the Executive Chef of Southern Pressed Juicery. Chef Xavier is in charge of all menu development, which includes juices, superfood smoothies, and raw food dishes.
