Sarah Dake is the executive chef at Limoncello in Greenville, SC. The Columbia native moved to Greenville in 2013 to attend the Culinary Institute of the Carolinas (CIC) at Greenville Technical College, graduating in 2015. Also in 2015, Sarah was presented with the Tourism Student Award by then Governor Nikki Haley. The award was sponsored by the South Carolina Travel and Tourism Coalition, and Sarah was one of seven South Carolina college students from hospitality-related programs to receive this award during a special ceremony at the SC Statehouse in Columbia that year. Sarah continued to have a stellar year in 2015, as she was able to refine her skills with respect to Italian cuisine while studying abroad in Italy at the Florence University of the Arts.
Regarding her own culinary background, Sarah worked six years at El Burrito in the Five Points District of Columbia, which served fresh, delicious Mexican cuisine to a loyal and eclectic clientele. Her professional repertoire also includes two years of cake decorating while attending CIC, as well as catering experience gained through her work with Greenbriar Farms in Easley, SC. Now, as Executive Chef, Sarah is applying her education and work experience at Limoncello, a southern Italian-inspired restaurant which is part of Larkin’s restaurant group. There she is refining her culinary artistry making fresh mozzarella cheese, fresh pastas, pizzas and more. At Limoncello she is savoring life, enjoying her colleagues and friends, and thriving in this superior and distinctive Italian eatery. She is excited to grow with this newly emerging restaurant as Limoncello continues to make its mark on the scene as one of downtown Greenville’s hot spots. As time allows, Sarah continues to enjoy artistic pursuits such as sketching and painting, as well as hiking in South Carolina’s scenic upstate.
