Adam McFarlane

Adam McFarlane has played keyboards in a variety of bands since 2001, performing with
musicians in different areas of the country and attributes his musical styling to those diverse
experiences. His musical roots are focused in rock and blues and he brings a free-flowing
improvisational approach to his playing.  Adam can currently be seen performing in the upstate
of South Carolina in a variety of musical ensembles, from full-scale rock and blues bands to
smaller duos and trios. Adam has been a member of the jam-bands Barney’s Jive Band
(Clemson, SC) and Galapagos (Norman, OK) as well as collaborations with the American-folk
band The Starlings (Seattle, WA) and red-dirt blues musician Kevin Watson (Denver, CO).  Adam
has also paired his musical styling with comedy, providing accompaniment for comedian and
Greenville, SC native Rory Scovel, including an appearance on the Conan O’Brien show in
September of 2013.  Throughout all his experiences, Adam has been fortunate to share a stage
with such bands as Little Feat, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Colonial Bruce Hampton, and
Perpetual Groove.  Music aside, Adam has earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from
Clemson University and works in the field of student development, teaching and advising
college students and student athletes as they transition into college and make the necessary
progress toward their degrees and ultimately, post-graduation success.
